Healing from Trauma, One Step at a Time

Trauma can leave lasting emotional injuries that impact how you think, feel, and move through the world. PTSD can develop after witnessing or experiencing an event that overwhelmed your sense of safety, but it can also emerge slowly over time, especially if you’ve been exposed to repeated traumatic situations.
 

At Kitchener Therapy Collaborative, we provide safe, compassionate, trauma-informed therapy for people living with PTSD and trauma-related symptoms. You don’t have to carry this alone. Support is here.

What can PTSD look or feel like?

PTSD can show up in different ways for different people. Common experiences include:
 

  • intrusive memories or flashbacks

  • feeling constantly on guard or easily startled

  • emotional numbness or disconnection from others

  • avoiding places, people, or situations that remind you of the trauma

  • disrupted sleep, nightmares, or intense anxiety

  • difficulties with trust, relationships, or daily functioning
     

Whether your symptoms are long-standing or recent, they are valid.
They deserve care.

Our Approach to PTSD Support

Our therapy is:

You will never be expected to share the details of your trauma if you don’t want to.

Your boundaries matter.
 

We use evidence-based approaches including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), as well as other trauma-specific interventions designed to support nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and capacity to reconnect with your life in meaningful ways.
 

As registered social workers, we cannot diagnose PTSD,  however, we can assess the impacts, explore symptoms together, and help build a path toward recovery.

In-Person and Online Therapy Options

We offer:

  • In-person therapy in Kitchener

  • Online therapy across Ontario
     

Both options are private, secure, and designed to support you wherever you are in your healing journey.
